When someone says nature the fist thing a person would think is " going green". But nature is more than buying a prius and recycling. Nature is what the world holds, its what makes our planet lively and spirited. But nature is not just for show, we need nature in order to live, in fact we are part of nature and anyone who says otherwise is either so far from reality or is making money off of saying it. For too long the religious right along with even some of the most sane human beings have considered themselves "god's children" when in reality we are all nature's children.
In reality people think they are Superior to all other animals when we should really be at the bottom of the food chain. What makes human beings different from other animals is our ability to create, think, and inspire. I want you to think of a world without modern medicine and housing. Yes, we would be like every other animal, our "natural lifespan" is around 30-40 years, just as a wolf's life span is about 7-10. Now some people would say that it was natures intention. I hate to make you feel bad but nature has no intention, nature has no mind and yet we continue to do things to it that once we reach the point of no return"such in global warming" we do not know what will happen.
Some people say they have to sacrifice the environment in order to make money, but without nature and this planet you would not have an economy nor a society. The way the human race has turned into over the years has been disgraceful, but enough badgering. As we enter with stronger weapons and bigger threats to our "empires" we should keep in mind that one of the biggest threats is right around the corner, nature's defence system. With global emissions on the rise and the hunting of endangered animals increasing we should have a lot to worry about and this time its not in our pocket books.
Now I am a big wolf enthusiast but that's why I have a good example of our effect on nature. In the late 19th century through the mid 20th century wolves were hunted and "exterminated" from the U.S. since 1995 they have been reintroduced but in very small numbers, keep in mind the population was over 400,000 before settlers moved to the west and now the population is below 10,000. Wolves are a at the top of the food chain, remember that in natures reality we are at the bottom, which mean they keep the ecosystem in check killing elk and deer which in its own right is to keep the elk and deer populations from springing to overpopulation which before the wolf was reintroduced was the case. A good reality check should be on the shopping list of the hunters and ranchers, and those who say they cant live with the wolf, just ask yourself, what if another intelligent life form took over and had most of the land that you once had, how would you feel.
Greed is a Major factor in the "murder of nature". But one of the biggest factors is organized religion. In many religions some animals are viewed as gods but in others as demons. Yet I view other animals as if they where my brothers and sisters. Which in "nature's reality" is true. If we all lived together in harmony we wouldn't have this problem. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not asking to become a bleeding heart liberal or a vegan(I like to enjoy a good BBQ chicken sandwich myself) but with natures dominant creatures such as the wolf, bear, shark, etc (high food chain animals) we should let them be. Humans have to learn that the world does not revolve around them, and before you shoot that rifle Mr. hunter think of the animal as your brother or sister or even better your mother or father.
